Andrew Spilsbury Shaker Boxes

I make Shaker oval wooden boxes and baskets, using traditional patterns and methods. I also adapt them for use as workbaskets and jewellery boxes. Wooden bands of selected cherry or maple are fastened using iconic swallowtail joints and copper tacks. Lids and bottoms are made to fit snugly and attached using wooden pegs. Shaker boxes are useful as well as decorative and are finished with oil and wax to best display the natural beauty of the wood.
