Bailey Curtis
BAILEY CURTIS studied Embroidery, Stitched Textiles, Weaving, Spinning and Dyeing in a variety of colleges. She has been making felt for over 20 years and is a member of the International Feltmakers Association and the South West Textile Group. Recent work has been based on the Poets' Path walks taken by the Dymock Poets months before the First World War. She uses wool that is local to her home in Gloucestershire. Her recent work is based on the allotments of Leonard Stanley where she has been working since 2013. The site is a wildlife paradise, up a quiet lane, a short walk from the church and a peaceful haven after a busy day. Fellow gardeners grow flowers as well as fruit and vegetables, making a wonderful inspiration for textile work.
