Neil Robson
Neil will be talking about and demonstrating the application of gold leaf on to glass. Reverse glass gilding is the technique used for lettering in gold and enamel paint on the the inside of windows, most commonly house names and numbers in the fanlights above front doors and in pubs and shops.
This method was very popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries but fell out of fashion, it is now undergoing something of a revival. Neil works as a signwriter and gilder in Cornwall and is passionate about traditional signwriting.
