Poppy Treffry
Poppy started her business in 2004 after studying textiles at Falmouth College of Art and Winchester School of Art. Specializing in freehand machine embroidery Poppy has successfully transformed her designs into printed textiles, fabric designs, ceramics, and stationery. Her range of quirky homewares and accessories can be found for sale throughout the UK, USA and Japan as well as through her own shop in St. Ives.
After graduating Poppy spent 3 years working in Guatemala, assisting women’s craft cooperatives to market their crafts to western markets. The same spirit of enabling women to work flexibly doing something creative lives on in Poppy’s own company which now employs 12 people sewing products, packing and processing orders as well as marketing and sales. All the products are still made by hand right here in Cornwall.
Poppy has made this extra-large tea cosy featuring the wonderful façade of Trereife House, especially for the Breeze Art Fair. It’s a subject close to home as her workshop is just over the road!
